Jane's Pocket Change: With Kaitlyn's Permission: "Mr. Karl"

Last week senior Kaitlyn Cirielli ‘15 emailed us all with a most beautiful reminder of our teacher, colleague and friend, Karl Fisher. Karl died unexpectedly on February 20, 2013 after suffering a rare, unexplained and massive stroke. It was his 53rd birthday. CSW mourned his great loss then and Kaitlyn helped us remember his life and influence with her moving communication last Friday. She is letting me share it with you all today. Thanks, Kaitlyn.

"What's Up, Misses and Misters Pup?"

February 20th is the 55th birthday of our beloved Mr. Karl. Celebrate him!

For those who didn't know him, this quirky man was chair of our Art Department, and an inspiring Art Teacher (to say the very very least). Sadly he is no longer with us, but he left his love all over us, and a huge footprint on our school.

I'd encourage any and all to carry on Karl's spirit for a moment, tomorrow in particular. Visit and add to the Karl Wall in the digital photo printing room; make some goofy videos in the Karl Lab; play some Supertramp; or if you're feeling particularly ambitious, try a snow-swim around the Karl Trail. Or have a bowl of Karl-style cheerios (more sugar in the bowl than cereal).

To those who don't know Karl, ask around for Karl stories or Karlisms, there are so many!

Stop by the art building tomorrow and throw candy at each other, make a little art or write a little birthday note for Karl. And in general, think about your amazing "do-age" abilities, whatever form this is in your individual "live-age." Then, "stop expressing yourself and go make some art!"

Remember, "do the do-age, don't the sewage."

You were trouble, Mr. Bubble Beautiful photos and videos and snips here.
