Jane Moulding began her tenure as the head of school at The Cambridge School of Weston in July 2001 with more than 25 years of experience in education as both a teacher and administrator, in this country and overseas. She is CSW's 22nd head in its 120-year history. Prior to joining CSW, Jane was the director of the middle school at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School (BB&N), where she developed a school-wide community service learning program and restructured the advising system.
Jane earned a master's of liberal arts degree from Harvard University Extension School in 1988; a post-graduate certificate of education from the University of Nottingham, U.K., in 1975; and a bachelor of arts, joint honors, in English and German literature, from the University of Warwick, U.K., in 1974. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Independent Schools of New England and on the Seeking Educators of Color Consortium.
In January 2007, Jane will spend two weeks at the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education at Columbia University's Teachers College, as a participant in the Visiting Fellows Program. This program is designed to provide educational administrators time to reflect on issues significant to their schools, and to gain skills and understanding necessary for informed and effective practice.
Before arriving at BB&N, Jane worked at Beaver Country Day School for seven years as the dean of faculty, the head of the English department and an English teacher. While there, she co-founded the school-wide drug and alcohol awareness and education program; created the required summer reading program; and spearheaded the Multicultural Assessment Plan. While earning her master's degree, she also served as a teaching assistant at Harvard University. She began her career in education as an English and German teacher with the Oil Companies School in Tripoli, Libya, and King Edward VI School in Lichfield, U.K.
Jane lives on campus with her husband, Linton, and her two corgis, Jethro and Charlie.
