CSW offers students a unique opportunity to learn American Sign Language (ASL) through academic courses. Students may also participate in Pocket Players, a touring children's theater group that performs in ASL and spoken English to hearing and Deaf audiences across the state.
CSW students may earn a language credit upon completing four ASL or Pocket Players classes. Many colleges now accept ASL credit and offer ASL as a language credit for undergraduates.
Did You Know? In April 2005, CSW's Theater Department was honored by the nationally known Learning Center for Deaf Children. At a black tie gala in Boston, department members were awarded for their "foresight in providing hearing students instruction in ASL and Deaf Culture through theater." |
