Capstone Project

All seniors at CSW are required to complete an intense research project called the Capstone. This year-long endeavor represents the culmination of their learning experience at CSW. Students choose a topic, examine it from different perspectives, and present their understanding to others in a number of venues, including visual and oral presentations.

While it requires a written component, the Capstone encourages students to go beyond textbooks and classroom curricula. They must identify an area of personal interest and connect that interest to the wider community.

As part of the project, seniors must reflect on their intellectual growth. In addition to a weekly process journal kept throughout the year, students must complete a two-page final assessment on what they learned by virtue of the Capstone process.
