International Program

CSW provides international students with a two-tiered program that helps them improve English skills while they build connections and explore American culture. The program includes a focused series of specially designed academic courses aimed at helping international students become proficient readers, writers, listeners and speakers of English. Unique to the program is its goal of balancing academic grammar and vocabulary course work with classes that allow students to use English imaginatively. By their second year at CSW, most international students are ready for mainstream courses.

The nonacademic component of the program includes a week-long orientation designed to help students get to know one another, and familiarize themselves with the campus and surrounding areas. Close communications are maintained with students' families, and CSW provides many opportunities for international students to share their heritage, traditions and culture with fellow students.
