In CSW's Wilderness Program students challenge and compete with themselves, while gaining a deeper understanding of collaboration and respect through reliance on their schoolmates for survival. As valuable as conquering the physical challenges, students return from the wilderness trips with a deeper sense of community and friendship.
Led by professionally trained leaders experienced in wilderness survival, CSW expeditions are scheduled four times a year during mod breaks: two backpacking trips in the fall, one winter skiing, snow shoeing or climbing trip in February, and one canoeing/sea kayaking trip in May.
Depending on the time of year, students travel north to New England's White Mountains or south to Virginia for sea kayaking and canoeing.
