The Cambridge School of Weston

Capital Campaign

To promote CSW's vision and support for major initiatives, and secure the school's place as a premier academic institution well into the next century, CSW has launched an ambitious capital campaign. The five year, $18 million campaign will help the school support three of its most immediate strategic goals: establish a building fund, increase the Annual Fund and build the school's endowment.

CSW is embarking on this campaign at a propitious time. Under Jane Moulding's visionary leadership, the school has completed a strategic plan, a campus master plan and produced a balanced budget. Although ambitious, the campaign reflects the school's optimism, deep belief in the efficacy of its Module System, educational values and readiness to embark on the next phase of its history and development.

1. Endowment Fund

Preserving a tradition of imaginative and inspired teaching is central to the school's identity. Energetic, multi-talented teachers are at the heart of The Cambridge School experience. Our unique Module System, and strong student-centered approach, requires inspired teachers who respect different types of intelligence and are open to diverse learning styles. The teachers are creative, idea driven and capable of engaging students in intense, ninety-minute classes. Our teachers are also fueled by their own passions as working artists, writers and community activists who bring inspiration and example into every classroom. To support their efforts the capital campaign will provide opportunities to provide enhanced financial support to our teachers, as well as endow faculty salaries.

2. Building Fund

CSW's new Science and Art Gallery Building, designed by the Boston-based architectural firm Architerra, is a 21,000 square foot "green building" nestled among existing trees on a sloped, wooded site. The new building joins the informal circle of buildings that define the central campus quadrangle. Completed in 2007, the building provides opportunities for expanded curriculum innovation, and helps foster a community spirit.
