Library Hosts Second Annual Read-a-Thon

The CSW Library hosted a Read-a-Thon on Saturday, December 2. This is the second year the Library has hosted what has come to be a much beloved event on campus.
Students could read whatever they wanted — news, fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels — as long as they were reading for pleasure; homework was strictly forbidden.

Over the course of the 12 hours, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., students read 13,754 book pages and listened to 996 minutes' worth of audiobooks. Twenty-six books were completed from start to finish during the event. Students also consumed 5 lbs of gummies — before 6:00 p.m.! At the end of the day, participants got to choose from one of 84 custom, handmade bookmarks as a takeaway.

This event was completely voluntary — a testament to the joy of reading that exists in the CSW community.

The Cambridge School of Weston is a progressive high school for day and boarding students in grades 9–12 and PG. CSW's mission is to provide a progressive education that emphasizes deep learning, meaningful relationships, and a dynamic program that inspires students to discover who they are and what their contribution is to their school, their community and the world.
