Dear CSW Families, Friends and Prospective Campers,

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to share a little bit of information about The Cambridge School of Weston 2009 Summer Day Camp with you. We are very excited about the upcoming season. As we enter our 59th year of providing a high quality traditional summer day camp experience for boys and girls, we look forward to a fun-filled exciting summer with our campers. Dates for the 2009 camp season are June 29 – August 21.

Our camp is located on the beautiful campus of The Cambridge School of Weston. Situated on 65 wooded acres of land, we have complete access to almost all of the amenities of the school, including two heated outdoor swimming pools, state of the art theatre and black box, gymnasium and fitness center, amphitheatre, dance labs, art and ceramics room, computer lab, music recital hall, spacious athletic fields, classrooms and last, but not least, our fantastic dining hall. What this means is we are able to offer a great camping experience no matter what the elements bring.

We are proud of the fact that many of our campers return to CSW year after year and recognize that as they grow older, their needs and interests may evolve. In order to meet these changing needs, we offer three different camping options:

1. Summer Day Camp - a traditional summer day camp for children (ages 4˝ - 15).

2. Summer Adventures – a day tripping program for young adults (ages 12 - 15).

3. Summer Stars – a performing arts program for campers (ages 10 - 16).

For teens ages 14-15, we also offer a Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program that focuses on the transition from camper to counselor. Additional details regarding each of these programs can be found in the pages that follow.

As great as our programming and facilities are, I believe our staff is our most important asset. Simply put, our Summer Day Camp staff is awesome! We maintain a very low camper-to-staff ratio of approximately 5:1. Where other camps might focus their attention on specific activities or facilities, we take tremendous pride in the ability of our staff and counselors to help campers thrive in a safe, relaxed, comfortable, fun environment. When hiring staff, we make sure that we find people who are not only qualified, but also able to become part of our close-knit community. I think one of our campers’ parents expressed it best when she said “it feels like a family reunion when we return to the CSW Summer Day Camp.”
