Participants in this class will be focusing on ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop and repertory. All dance students will participate in a variety of techniques with different teachers who are extraordinary practitioners in their styles. Additional guest artists from nationally known companies will give day- and week-long workshops. Classes are designed to challenge each student at his or her appropriate level.

Henry Kasdon, our Dance Explosion instructor, has lived in the Boston area for nearly his entire life. Although not technically trained, Henry possesses a natural ability for dance. He began his dance career in 1998 at Tufts University. While there, he was president of TURBO, Tuft's break crew, as well as a dancer/choreographer for the hip-hop/jazz dance troupe Spirit of Color. He currently instructs at the James M. Curley Elementary School in Jamaica Plain and the Fletcher-Maynard Academy in Cambridge. He also teaches hip-hop at numerous high schools (including The Cambridge School of Weston), colleges and studios. Henry is also a devout BBoy and hip-hop DJ (aka Kid Spin) and was recently featured on MTV’s hit show “My Super Sweet 16.”
