Musical Theater

Come jump into musical theater this summer with our amazing shows, Peter Pan and Thoroughly Modern Millie! Learn audition techniques! Grow as an actor and singer while working on these great shows. Open to all levels of performers. Our theater and music facilities are incredible, with a large, air conditioned, modern theater, costume shop, recital hall, and practice rooms. Each day will be filled with warm-ups, acting classes, singing lessons, both private and group. Each program ends after four whirlwind weeks with a dress rehearsal for the camp, and then an evening performance for family and friends. Our productions are fully costumed with sets, backdrops, lights, and sound.

  Small-town girl meets the Big Apple and all its surprises! It’s the zany new musical about the 1920s that took Broadway by storm!

Our Musical Theater director, Laura Backley, was trained as an opera singer and holds a master’s of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Cincinnati. Since graduating, Laura has happily landed herself in the fantastic world of musical theater! When she is not at camp, Laura directs 4-5 musicals a year in the greater Boston area and teaches musical theater acting classes for high school, middle school, and elementary students. Laura has students who are professional performers, many of whom are on national tours and cruise ships. She is also the vocal teacher at the Cambridge School of Weston and teaches the History of Music Theater Opera Workshop and choir classes. She is also the music director for the school’s spring musical.
