Post Graduate Program

Perhaps you discovered late in your high school career that you have a passion for art, and you’d like the chance to refine your portfolio before applying to colleges. Or maybe you haven’t yet been able to fully explore your interest in social justice. Perhaps you’d simply benefit from another year of high school, but would also like to develop your sense of independence by living away from home.

CSW’s Post Graduate year, available to a limited number of qualified students, offers a unique opportunity to experience a well-rounded, progressive education with inspiring teachers and classmates. Students choose from among our 250 course offerings to create a liberal arts experience, or concentrate in a particular area of interest, like the Visual Arts or STEM curriculum. All students participate in our PACE program and benefit from the opportunities our progressive model and diverse course offerings provide. Our PG year also affords the opportunity for students for whom English is an acquired language to increase their language proficiency in an academic setting that balances rigor and flexibility.

The PG year at CSW is designed for candidates who have demonstrated success in a school program and who are younger than 20 years old. If you’re interested in pursuing an application, please fill out our inquiry form or call the admissions office.

Your Post-Graduate Program will include a minimum of:

6 classes in your chosen area of concentration
3 English classes
2 History classes
1 Mathematics class
1 Science class
2 Arts electives
18 total Academic credits

"CSW drastically changed the way I think about the world, and about education."

"My PG year was the best year of my life. And I really mean it. CSW drastically changed the way I think about the world, and about education. In Spain, we have more of a traditionally structured education system, so I was surprised that at CSW I could choose many of my own classes, pursue ideas I had for independent projects, and actually enjoy my academic work! Living on campus allowed me to use facilities such as the art building in the evenings, which was really useful. But the best thing about CSW is the people. The community is warm and inspiring, and my teachers and classmates helped me to discover how much I can achieve when I believe in myself. My younger brother was also a PG student at CSW, and I know his experience was just as transformational as mine was!."
