Jane's Pocket Change: Topping it Off?
Our seniors' work and creativity on their Capstone project is testament to their passion for new areas of exploration and discovery.

What's it all about?
Our seniors' work and creativity on their Capstone project is testament to their passion for new areas of exploration and discovery. They present to groups of students and teachers, including their Capstone advisors, presentations that showcase such diversity in subject matter from attempting a vegan diet, learning guitar to making a movie, writing and performing hip-hop music, and studying storytelling formats. I try to attend as many as I can--I want to see them all.
The very fact that each student stands up in front of a large group, sometimes including friends and family, is always impressive--and sometimes daunting for them. The kids dress a bit more formally that day; they display their final projects in PowerPoint, Prezi, iMovie, show art, orchestrate a conversation. During their presentations, they create an intimate community of learning in the classroom. Also on display is their confidence about the world and what they have absorbed throughout their time with us.
