CSW Welcomes Parents for Family Visit Weekend

The CSW community welcomed parents and family members to campus in October for Family Visit Weekend. The festivities began with open classrooms on Friday morning, giving family members the chance to shadow their children and enjoy an inside look at their daily lives. The CSW community welcomed parents and family members to campus in October for Family Visit Weekend. The festivities began with open classrooms on Friday morning, giving family members the chance to shadow their children and enjoy an inside look at their daily lives. Later, the community gathered in the Robin Wood Theatre for an all-school assembly featuring presentations and performances from the student body.

During lunch, visitors enjoyed smooth melodies from the CSW Jazz Ensemble out on the quad before heading off to attend affinity group meetings. Parents were also afforded the opportunity to meet with teachers and advisors or attend a presentation of the school’s recently revised mission and values statement from Dean of Equity and Inclusion Rosanna Salcedo. In the evening, fans cheered on CSW’s Field Hockey, Volleyball, and Boys’ Soccer teams and enjoyed dinner in the Cheek Dining Hall. The night ended with the Theatre Department’s fall mainstage production of D.W. Gregory’s
Radium Girls.

On Saturday, families continued to meet with teachers and advisors and also had the option to get to know dorm parents and college counselors. Those who weren’t able to attend the mission and values statement presentation or the prior night’s performance of Radium Girls had another chance to do so on Saturday. The weekend closed with a reception for students and families of color and a final community dinner.

Thank you to all of our community members for a memorable two days!
