CSW's JSA Chapter Earns Six Best Speaker Gavels

On November 22-24, CSW's Junior State of America (JSA) chapter attended the organization's Fall State conference in Providence, MA. JSA is a national student-run organization that allows students to acquire leadership skills and the knowledge necessary to be effective debaters and civic participants.

After a weekend of debates and moderating, the CSW crew left with six Best Speaker gavels earned by the following students:

Ruby Russell (2) '20
Maya Rabin '22
Jayson Stansbury '20
Orion Douglas '21


Anna Whitney '21 served as a Logistics Agent, Quinn Charner-Laird '21 was an official photographer, Gray Moxley '21 a juror, and Maya Rabin '22 a Supreme Court Justice. Overall as a chapter, all debaters participated at the conference through main speaking positions or by asking questions and serving as subsequent speakers.
