Maya Rabin '22 Elected Mayor for the New England Region of JSA

CSW would like to congratulate Maya Rabin '22 on being elected as next year’s Mayor for the New England region by the Junior State of America (JSA) Foundation Northeast State, one of the six elected official positions in the Northeast State.

After entering the race late, she knew she would need all the help she could get, so fellow members of the CSW JSA Chapter, Anna Whitney '21 and Stuart Heintz '22, stepped in to help manage her campaign. For the next two months, she used social media to reach out to JSA students at other schools to understand their concerns within the organization and how she could better serve them if elected mayor

"I really enjoyed speaking to a variety of JSA students from CSW and beyond and learning about their experiences, and what issues/concerns they may have about the organization," says Maya.

Next year, Maya will be representing all six states on the national level. She says, "I hope that next year as Mayor I am able to bring back some in-person conferences for students within JSA, reach out to new schools, meet a variety of students from different backgrounds around New England, and finally run a Gryphon-Con, a one day JSA conference."

Congratulations Maya! We are excited to see the work she will do next year!
