"I really appreciate that CSW's student body is not a monolith—each student is interested in something different, and we all develop the skills and confidence we need to communicate in an extremely diverse environment."

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE GREATEST STRENGTH OF CSW'S ACADEMIC PROGRAM?

With six-week mods (marking periods) and 90-minute classes, students actually get more time in class than at other schools. And because each mod is shorter, students need to plan and organize their work very carefully, which is an important life skill to develop!

OF ALL THE CLASSES YOU'VE TAKEN HERE, WHICH HAVE BEEN YOUR FAVORITES?

Alexander the Great
This class pushed my thinking to new heights through deep analysis and detective work.

Expository Writing
My essay-writing skills are now at the college-level, and my writing is eloquent and thorough — all because of this class.

Mandarin
Learning Mandarin has unlocked a door to the hearts and minds of over one billion new people.

WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS AT CSW?

  • In Taiwan, we spent the night at an aquarium, and while everyone was asleep, two friends and I roamed the halls and looked at the exhibits, which we had to ourselves!

  • Seeing the Model United Nations conference come to fruition was one of the most satisfying experiences to me. We had put in so much work into the planning process, and seeing something I led be such a huge hit was a great moment.

HOW HAS YOUR TIME AT CSW SHAPED YOU AS A PERSON?
CSW has made me a better person overall: more empathetic, stronger, and smarter. I have become more diligent and have learned to persevere through hard work and other challenges in my life--I think because of how rigorous CSW's curriculum is.
