Jane's Pocket Change: Trust, Hope, Honesty

On my recent trip to New Mexico I enjoyed great tacos, fabulous chile - both green and red - beautiful vistas and bright blue skies. I also witnessed a kind of life that would be a bit foreign in most of the Massachusetts I know: a sort of simple human belief in the honors system.
On my recent trip to New Mexico I enjoyed great tacos, fabulous chile - both green and red - beautiful vistas and bright blue skies. I also witnessed a kind of life that would be a bit foreign in most of the Massachusetts I know: a sort of simple human belief in the honors system.

In Albuquerque the cheapest place to park was administered by a low-tech slot system where you simply pushed your dollar bills through a slot above the number of your parking space--no cashier on site. Heck, if you were visiting the museum, parking was free. At the top of Sandia Peak, where you MUST display a daily visit stub, was the same little slot for inserting payment. Trust that drivers would do this (we did, honest), and the basic hope in good people's honesty with this system, kind of made me feel warm inside--how could I not?

This is what we want of each other and of CSW students. I like the basic hope and trust in human nature that it displays. (Oh, and by the way, I hope you like the hat). All my best for Mod 6.
