Apply to CSW

We are seeking curious, creative learners of all races, genders, identities, cultures, and backgrounds to live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives. We welcome applications for boarding and day students in grades 9-12. We also offer a one-year immersion program, and a post-graduate (PG) year.  This portion of the website will guide you through our application process.

  • Inquire and create an online account

Complete our online inquiry form to request our admissions materials, which will create a Ravenna application account for you. You’ll also be added to our mailing list so that you can receive important information and updates throughout the application process. If you already have a Ravenna account, you can simply add The Cambridge School of Weston as a school you are applying to.

Having a Ravenna account will allow you to:
    • Schedule a tour and interview
    • Complete the student and parent portions of the application if using the Ravenna application
    • Request recommendations from your student’s teachers via email
    • See a checklist of application steps, and which are complete
    • Receive your decision by logging into Ravenna

Please note that we will also accept applications submitted through SAO. However, there is an additional processing fee incorporated into the SAO application fee, and the SAO application requires additional essays. If you plan to submit your application through SAO, we still ask that you create a Ravenna account before you schedule your interview, as it will allow you to track your application materials and receive your admissions decision online.
  • Schedule a campus tour and interview (by January 15)

Admissions interviews are required for all applicants, and are offered both in-person and virtually. Tours and interviews are generally completed during the same visit, and are conducted Monday-Friday, during the school day, while school is in session. Interviews must be scheduled by January 15, 2025 and completed by January 31, 2025.

Before scheduling your admissions interview, we ask that you set up a Ravenna account. If you already have a Ravenna account, please add CSW as one of the schools that you are exploring/applying to before requesting an interview.

Domestic student applicants can choose to self-schedule their campus visit through Ravenna. If you are an international student applicant, or a domestic student with additional questions, please either email us or call 781.642.8650 and we'll be happy to help!
  • Submit an application (by January 15)

Our online application system, Ravenna, will walk you through:

    Submitting family application materials:
    • Application for Admission
    • Application Fee ($50 for domestic students, $100 for international students.) We are committed to making the application process accessible for all students. If the admissions application fee presents a hardship for your family, please reach out to our office to request a fee waiver.
    • Student Questionnaire
    • Academic Writing Sample
    • Parent/Guardian Questionnaire
    • Optional Supplemental Materials (such as writing samples, art portfolios, videos, etc.)
Requesting teacher recommendations and school records:
    • Current School Official Recommendation, transcript and attendance records for previous year, and current year grades and attendance reports. (Applicants to upper grades must submit transcripts for all years of high school.)
    • Current English Teacher Recommendation
    • Current Math Teacher Recommendation
    • Dorm Parent Recommendation (for any applicant who has been a boarding student in the past two years)
    • Optional additional recommendations, if desired
Note: CSW does not require an entrance exam such as the SSAT/ISEE. If you take one of these tests and would like to submit your scores as part of your application, you may do so, but not submitting them will not have a negative impact on your chances for admission. We do strongly encourage homeschool applicants to submit SSAT/ISEE scores.

If you choose to submit scores, they should be sent to CSW directly. CSW’s test code for the SSAT is 2020; for the ISEE it is 222350. Scores from a PSAT, SAT, or ACT exam should be sent to us directly from your current school.

International applicants for whom English is not their native language are required to submit official TOEFL/Duolingo English Test scores. Our test code for the TOEFL is 9641.
  • Apply for financial aid (by January 15, if applicable)

Families applying for financial aid are required to submit their application to Clarity and list CSW as the recipient. As part of the financial aid application, families will complete an e-signature form and Clarity will pull verified tax documents directly from the IRS. For more information, visit our Tuition and Financial Aid page.
  • Receive admissions decision (on March 10)

We share notification of admissions decisions online via each family's Ravenna account. Please note that we are unable to provide admissions decisions over the phone, and that by submitting your application via Ravenna you will have the earliest possible access to your notification.
  • Enroll (by April 10)

By signing and submitting the electronic enrollment agreement and deposit to CSW, families make their student's enrollment official! Once we receive and process the enrollment, families will receive information about academic placement and getting ready for the coming school year.
