CSW Ultimate Frisbee Shines at CHCH Tournament

The CSW Ultimate Frisbee team participated in the third annual Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall Ultimate Tournament on Saturday, April 5th.
The CSW Ultimate Frisbee team (Uruk-Hai) participated in the third annual Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall Ultimate Tournament on Saturday, April 5th. Members of both the A and B teams were invited to play in the early season weekend tournament, with the hopes of gaining some on-field playing experience and enjoying some early spring competition.

The conditions were partly cloudy and the fields were a little moist from the previous evening rains. However, CSW came out strong and showed off their offensive and defensive straight from the first pull of the first game. To start the day, Uruk-Hai faced off against CHCH (the tournament hosts) and jumped to an early lead with smart handling from their veteran players and strong in-cuts from both veterans and new-comers alike. CSW finished the game with a 9-3 score and moved on to face Northfield Mount Hermon's B-team. In this game, the CSW offense faced a 1-3-3 defensive zone. Thanks to the savvy handling and passing skills of both A and B-team players, Uruk-Hai breezed by the zone and went on to secure a 12-2 win. The last two games of the day were against Pingree and Marianapolis' B-team. Both these games were great warm-ups for CSW, as they fought hard and played patient offense en routes to 12-3 and 12-0 wins.

Overall, it was an extremely successful weekend for the CSW Ultimate Frisbee team, going 4-0 on the day and finishing with confidence in their playing and their strong teamwork.
