On Thursday, the CSW Girls' Tennis Team participated in their first league contest of the season, facing off against Gann Academy. Despite potent winds, CSW exhibited uncommon poise, grit, and determination. Gann Academy fielded an impressive array of talented tennis players, and the Gryphons put forth an admirable effort. The spectators were regaled by an epic performance in Number 1 Singles by Sara Bakalchuk '15. This was a truly memorable performance, and had a few points been decided in her favor, Sara would have been the victor, succumbing 5-8 to an impressive Gann Academy #1 player. Our other singles players, Simenesh Simene '17 and Alexandra Kahn '16, playing in their first matches, also gave great efforts. Our doubles teams of Amanda Poorvu '15 and Alexandra Kahn were a delight to watch, as were Anne Hittson '14 and Julia Keating '17. Again, an admirable effort was put forth by all CSW players in the 0-5 loss to Gann Academy.
