On yet another windswept early spring afternoon, the lively CSW Girls' Tennis squad faced another formidable tennis opponent in Boston Trinity Academy. Today featured many firsts for the CSW Girls' Tennis team. CSW had our first victories of the season, with Number 1 singles wonder Maya Barnes '17 registering her most consistently thrilling performance of this young season, soundly defeating her opponent 8-2. Our Second Doubles squad of Sarah Buta '17 and Julia Keating '17 revealed that they are a force with which to be reckoned, convincingly defeating their opponents, 8-2. Julia had three aces, and Sarah garnered two aces. With this potent serving, these freshman ladies have a promising future in competitive Tennis.

Simenesh Semine '17 provided another wonderful effort for CSW, coming up short, but vastly improving her positioning and serving. The number one doubles team of Leila Burnham '15 and Gioia Chaouch '14 gave some of the most compelling moments of the tennis seson, having long and arduous rallies (one that lasted nearly five minutes), but coming up on the heartbreaking side of a narrow defeat. All ladies performed incredibly well, and under very disadvantageous circumstances with the weather. That we were only one match from victory speaks volumes to the character of this team.

Results:
#1 Singles: Maya Barnes won, 8-2
#2 Singles: Simenesh Semine lost, 1-8
#1 Doubles: Leila Burnham/Goia Caouch lost, 5-8
#2 Doubles: Julia Keating/Sarah Buta won, 8-2
