Helen Sun, a teacher from CSW’s sister school, the Yihai School in Beijing, visited campus this past week to learn more about CSW and to observe teaching and educational practices in the United States.

Throughout the week, Ms. Sun, who teaches sixth grade at the Yihai School, met with faculty, students, and administrators, toured the campus and sat in on various classes.

Since 2012, the sister school partnership has provided opportunities for faculty and students at both Yihai and CSW to take part in both cultural and academic exchange.

School leaders and teachers at the Yihai School hosted Head of School Jane Moulding and Visual Arts teacher Tom Evans during a visit to China last spring. “Helen was a terrific host for me and Tom when we were in China last year,” said Jane. “She has a wonderful, open, and curious approach to life, and we are really happy to host her here at CSW.”

Ms. Sun is one of just a handful of teachers from China, selected to tour and visit schools in the United States. In addition to CSW, she will be visiting schools in Chicago and Milwaukee in the coming weeks.
