For the first time this season, the CSW Girls Tennis team scored a thrilling, hard-earned victory against Brimmer and May, 4-1.
For the first time this season, the CSW Girls Tennis team scored a thrilling, hard-earned victory against Brimmer and May, 4-1. Despite the winter-like weather conditions, the girls brought their customary enthusiasm and tenacity to our match. Maya Barnes '17 earned her second consecutive victory of the season, using punishing serves and solid backhands in a convincing 8-2 victory. At number two singles, Sarah Bakalchuk '15 coasted to a shutout victory, 8-0. At number three singles, Simenesh Semine '17 earned her first victory of the season, 8-0. Our number one doubles squad of Amanda Poorvu '15 and Leila Burnham '15 displayed why they are a force with which to be reckoned, coupling dominant net play and consistent backcourt fundamentals en route to an 8-2 defeat of Brimmer. In second doubles, Alexandra Kahn '16 and Sarah Buta '17 fought ferociously in a heartbreaking defeat. The CSW Girls' team continues to improve in every match!
