Boys' Varsity Soccer Displays Early 2014 Dominance

The Boys' Varsity Soccer team had a fantastic first week of the 2014 season, facing two strong opponents and coming away with two dominant victories. 
The Gryphons kicked off their competitive season by traveling to Covenant Christian Academy on Wednesday, September 10. Both Jonathan Downs '16 and Joshua Glass '15  recorded two goals in the win. Justin Dormitzer '17 also tallied a goal as CSW came away with a 5-3 win. 

In their next match, the Gryphons hosted familiar foe Newman School on Friday, September 12. CSW came out firing during this match, with senior captain and mid-fielder Jacob Arons '15 scoring an impressive hat-trick. Farid León '16 scored two goals in the game and Max Bowen '18 recorded the first goal of his CSW soccer career. 

Head coach Marvin Gutierrez notes, "The boys are progressing a lot, showing a lot of growth and promise." The team is also excited to have a new keeper in net. The Gryphons' new goalie, Evan Smith '15, has been very impressive in his first two games of 2014.
