Curriculum Detail

Liberal Studies

The liberal studies division offers students the chance to explore territories that lie outside the landscape mapped out by the rest of the school’s departments. Ranging across the humanities, the social sciences and the physical sciences, these courses represent CSW’s belief that students—and their teachers—should follow their curiosities beyond those boundaries that feel comfortable and familiar.
  • BetaClass2015

This is a playground for beta users of the new App to experiment with the class pages.
  • Introduction to Computer Programming

This course is designed to introduce basic programming concepts with the use of the Java programming language inside of the development environment known as Eclipse. We will cover topics such as code structure, variables, operators, control structures and data structures. Students will often work individually on assignments but will have the opportunity to work in groups as they develop their final project. This course will focus mainly on the coding aspect, however students are welcome to include a visual design component in their projects.
  • New Perspectives in Psychology

This is an advanced health course looking at the application of psychology in our lives. It is required for new juniors and seniors who missed 9/10 Health Education. Other CSW students are welcome. The class learns about healing modalities, therapy techniques and psychological theory. Discussion about students’ decision making and well-being are at the core of the curriculum. Reading, journals and a final paper are required.
