WOW! XC Team continues to impress

Lisa Mikkelsen
As one of our parents said today, "WOW". Yes, just WOW. What a way to finish up the regular Cross Country season. This team continues to make us so proud and appreciate what Cross Country teams are supposed to be. Our student runners finished 2nd at this final meet, our best place so far this season. Once again, the team showed a lot of depth and grit. Our latest runner to join the top five scoring athletes this week is Jack Zhang ('20). We challenged him to make this his meet and he delivered, finishing 22nd overall to score for the first time for the team. Senior Captain Miles Ogden-Powers ('18) had his best finish with a 2nd place finish and is now ranked 4th in the MBIL All Stars! Congratulations to Henry Li ('21) and Evan Scully ('19) for their steady and remarkable improvement over the course of the season. Henry has placed 42nd, 45th, 26th, 24th, 18th then 15th yesterday. Meanwhile Evan has placed 65th, 58th, 37th, 40th, 22nd, 20th then 16th yesterday. Jose Melo ('19) was able to overcome two falls on the wet grassy course and still finish 17th! Katie Baum ('21) ran a smart race and finished 2nd for the girls and is now ranked 4th in the MBIL All Stars for girls! Shout Out to Jamie McCreath ('21), Zoe Davis ('21), Patrick Bai ('21) and Ryder Comollo ('19) all ran their best meet of the season yesterday - excellent work. In addition to the runners who worked together to score CSW's best meet yet, we also had many team members who were not able to run. They really did show up, though! They helped support the runners - from organizing bib numbers and giving course directions to holding jackets and cheering their team members on. Of course it was great to finish in 2nd place at our final regular season meet. It was even better to accomplish it with all 23 team members contributing.
