Girls' LAX falls to Gann 15-16

Paul O'Halloran
The Gryphons played a very balanced Gann team on Tuesday. The first half featured both teams looking to take charge and control the game. What ensued was a competitive back and forth battle that was all about midfield play and ground ball control. Both teams Traded goal after goal and ended the half tied at seven. Stuart Heintz '22 and Addie Santello '19 did a solid job helping to control the midfield and battled Gann on many ground balls to help secure possession for CSW. Alaina Hauber '20 scored two quick goals to put CSW on top at the start of the second half. Hauber was able to slice and power her way through Gann's defensive midfield on her way to fast break goal and set up multiple scoring chances for her teammates. Leading the way was Emma Sullivan ’19 with excellent stick work and sharp shooting and a total of eight goals. Both teams fought hard with multiple lead changes with Gann going ahead by two goals with a minute and a half left. The Gryphons were able to cut it to one goal with 30 seconds remaining, but fell short losing 15-16.
