Community Engagement (CE) Teachers Visit Lawrence, MA.

On Wednesday, September 29, Community Engagement (CE) teachers went on a field trip to Lawrence, MA to engage in a day of professional development. The teachers went on a tour with a member of the Historical Society to learn about the history of Lawrence as a "mill town," and its evolution as wave after wave of immigrants have settled there, shaping the history and culture of the city. The CE teachers also met with representatives from local non-profit organizations to learn about and better understand how to build community partnerships and impactful service-learning opportunities. Lunch was catered by a local Dominican restaurant. A great day was had by all!
