Interdisciplinary Learning

See the Bigger Picture

When Subjects Connect, Understanding Deepens

At most schools, learning lives in silos — history in one room, science in another, art down the hall. But at The Cambridge School of Weston, we break down those walls. Our interdisciplinary approach invites students to explore big ideas across disciplines, working with multiple teachers and classmates to uncover the rich, nuanced connections between subjects. Whether it's pairing environmental science with nature writing, or studying social justice through history, literature, and visual storytelling, CSW students don't just memorize—they synthesize. The result? A deeper, more holistic understanding of the world and their place in it.

  • Focus Fusion Courses

Focus Fusion Courses are classes specifically designed to complement one another, allowing students to delve into a particular topic, area of interest, or skill from a variety of different angles and perspectives. This allows for a broader, more informed understanding of material, which many students take with them on their chosen career paths. Example areas of focus have included: Race in the U.S., Environmental Studies, Latin American Language, History & Culture, Medicine, and Film Studies.
