  • Module 6 Grades and Comments Available June 21

    Parent and Student comment expectations

    Expectations for Students

Students are expected to read the comments carefully and to speak directly with their teachers if they have clarifying questions or questions about how to implement the feedback. Students’ advisors also read the comments and can provide students with support in processing comments and any follow-up communication with the teacher.

    Expectations for Families

Families should read the comments to be aware of the feedback from the teacher and to play a supporting role by encouraging students to work directly with their teachers and/or advisors to ensure they understand their performance in the class and the feedback being offered by their teachers.
  • Scheduling Season

    Scheduling season is upon us!

The Academic Office met with rising 12th graders and their advisors in Mod 5. We are finalizing rising 12th-grade schedules with the College Counselors. College counselors are currently reviewing these schedules before they are shared with families for review and sign-off. We are asking parents/guardians to sign off on their student's rising 12th-grade schedule. A sign-off form will be posted to MyCSW soon for you to access.

Rising 11th graders have been invited to their scheduling meetings with the Academic Office and advisor. We are meeting with rising 11th graders this week. Students should work with their advisors and families regarding their schedule choices for next year. For your reference, a scheduling guide and course offerings are posted in the All Things Academic tile on MyCSW. Rising 11th-grade schedules will be finalized over the summer and will be published in MyCSW before the start of school in August.

Rising 10th graders received a course preference form on Wednesday, May 20; the form is due by Wednesday, June 3. Students are encouraged to work with their advisor and family regarding course choices for next year. Rising 10th-grade schedules will be created over the summer and published in MyCSW before the start of school in August.
  • Summer Reading Guide Infomation

As we enter summer break, the CSW Library reminds you of the numerous offerings around finding pleasure reads for time away from school (students are required to read one summer pick with their advisory group but we encourage students to engage with more than one book this summer). We have a genre reading guide (featuring tags students have asked for–YA, LGBTQ+ romance, Read This! recs from their peers) for those that like tons of options or particularly like to read in a category. Head to our comprehensive Find Your Next Read landing page that features our genre list, as well as other curated collections we’ve built all year to get you excited about summer reading.

College Counseling

List of 2 items.

  • Registration Opens for Late Summer and Fall SAT Test Dates

The College Board has announced that registration is open for fall test dates, including the August and September tests. The August and September dates have limited seats and fill very quickly. Students and families planning to register should do so as soon as possible.

As a reminder, testing is optional at most colleges and universities. Still, we recognize that many of our students engage with testing as part of their college process. We hope this reminder encourages students to register early and secure testing locations that are close and easily accessible.
  • ACT/SAT Diagnostic Opportunity

The CSW College Counseling office is happy to provide junior students the opportunity to take a practice ACT or digital SAT virtually through Revolution Prep, our standardized testing preparation partner.

This is an at-home exam with options to test independently or as part of a national mock test date. National mock tests are offered on Saturdays at both 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.; independent testing can be done at any time. Once complete, students will receive a thorough diagnostic report to help them interpret and analyze the results.

Families interested in pursuing this opportunity should visit the landing page to see all available options for at-home independent and national mock testing. All practice tests are free, and families do not need to utilize Revolution Prep's test preparation services to access the tests.

Students or families with questions about testing should contact Randy Jose from the College Counseling office or David Zimbalist from Revolution Prep.
