Lacrosse beats cross-town rival CH-CH

Paul O'Halloran
Monday afternoon, CSW hosted CH-CH and the game started off sluggish with both teams trying to establish momentum. Leading 4-2 CSW called a timeout to re-focus and get back to a defensive mindset.

Sage Mauri ‘19 and Grace Morocho ‘19 were strong defensively leading to a consistent effort that turned defense into offense. This produced much better team play with CSW playing their best this season! Mauri and Morocho tallied eight assists on 16 goals.

The Gryphons utilized the middle of the field by moving the ball left to right and hitting teammates in transition for fast break drives. Led by Alaina Hauber ‘20 with five goals and five assists, Hanna Hewett ’19 with four goals, and Emma Sullivan ’19 with five goals and one assist, CSW was able to keep the pressure on and not allow CH-CH any consistent offensive play.

Elise Farley ‘21 was a big factor in the second half, moving from her defensive position into an offensive role and sparked the team with two goals and one assist, and had multiple plays on the ball to keep CH-CH from getting any momentum leading to a 16-6 victory.
