Girls' LAX wins second game of season

Paul O'Halloran
CSW Girls' Lacrosse traveled to Boston Trinity Academy on Thursday afternoon for a good early season test. CSW was shorthanded, but each player stepped it up and did their job. With multiple players in different positions, the game was a tight contest to start with each team trading goals. The score was 2-2 in the first quarter of the game. CSW did a great job getting the ball up the sideline and then attacking the middle for scoring chances. Lydia Brown '19 had four goals and two assists and plenty of hustle to generate offensive flow which kept BTA on their heels. Broan was helped by Alaina Hauber '20 who had seven goals and was a force in the middle attacking the net. Elise  Farley '21 was disruptive in the defensive end with the ability to come up with loose ball after loose ball and stop scoring chances. Rose Kesselman '19 was stellar in goal with several solid saves keeping CSW ahead with an 11-5 halftime lead. BTA started strong in the second half. They used team speed to apply pressure and control time of possession to cut the deficit 15 - 10. Sage Mauri '19 played very good positioning to man the middle of the field to help CSW transition from defense to offense, Mauri also tallied two goals. McKinley Gregg  '21 scored her first career goal!  With five minutes remaining, CSW called a timeout, regrouped and was able to put the game away, 16-13.
