Lacrosse gets a big win over cross-town rival CH-CH

Paul O'Halloran
CSW defeated CH-CH 14 -3 on a cold and rainy afternoon. CSW got off to a fast start to take an 8-1 lead at the half. Offensively, the Gryphons continued their team play by moving the ball in the air from defense to offense. Alain Hauber ‘20 was double-teamed most of the game, but found a way to contribute by coming up with four assists and multiple wins on the draw.

Emma Sullivan ’19, Hanna Hewett ’19, and Emma Loren ’20 all found the back of the net consistently, making it difficult on the for-check. CH-CH struggled to gain momentum offensively. Addie Santello ‘19 was strong in the mid field and continuously denied CH-CH opportunities to go on the attack. Santello was also was key in transitioning the play from the defensive end to jump start the offense. Rose Kesselman ‘19 played one of her best games in net, coming up with a couple of textbook saves in the second half to close out the game.

On Wednesday CSW travels to Landmark to close out the season and a chance to tie for the league title.
