Today was our fifth day in Cerro Punta. We started out the morning at 8:30 with breakfast at the hotel. At 9:30, we all took a drive to a Geisha coffee farm to see how this special type of coffee in Chiriqui is harvested. We saw how the coffee cherries are picked, and how the beans are sun-dried, removed of their shell, roasted, and ground into powder that’s ready for packaging.
Afterwards, we took a short hike through the woods and fields of crops where we got to taste sugar cane and onions straight from the ground. We finished our experience at the farm by drinking the coffee we saw being made. Geisha coffee is known to have a very unique flavor featuring hints of jasmine and citrus.
For lunch, some of us stayed at the hotel to eat while others went out into the small town to eat some of the local food and shop for souvenirs. We finished off the afternoon with some time to work on our projects. We finished off the night with dinner at the hotel a movie (the greatest showman!!)
