At this Mod's Parent Coffee, we'll welcome English teachers Carmen Leahy and Samantha Simpson, and visual arts teacher Alison Safford, the inaugural grantees of the Alorie Parkhill Learning and Travel Fund for teachers. Carmen and Samantha, both members of the English Department, pursued a project titled: “Harlem/Paris: The African-American Expatriate Experience, 1900 – 1950.” Alison spent time studying social design in the Netherlands and New York. We hope you'll join us as they share details from their fascinating experiences at home and abroad!
CSW—a gender-inclusive day and boarding school for grades 9-12—is a national leader in progressive education. We live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives in every aspect of our student experience. Young people come to CSW to learn how to learn and then put what they learn into action—essential skills they carry into their futures as doers, makers, innovators, leaders, and exceptional humans who do meaningful work in the world.
