CSW vs Boston Trinity Academy
The day after facing Waring, CSW traveled to BTA for the two teams' second matchup of the season. Cambridge entered the competition hoping to capitalize on momentum from the energy and teamwork with which they had ended their previous game the day before. They were to succeed in that endeavor.
Cambridge took to the field with a desire to do well, and teamwork was evident from the start of the game. Passing the ball, and working to play on BTA's defensive end resulted in several shots on goal. The BTA keeper responded, and did a great job of catching and deflecting shots. Finally, Sean Feldman '19 place a ball high and in the center of the net for the opening goal of the contest. Ella Trumper '19 excited fans and the team as she persisted in looking to score off the cross. Her hustle proved to be something BTA defenders needed to be vigilant about. Hannah Winthrop '19 scored to lift CSW to two goals in the first half.
BTA came out stronger in the second half, and created several scoring opportunities. To counter, Rachel Loren '20 and Charlotte Kaftan-Luckerman '19 contributed strong play in the middle of the field. Cambridge withstood BTA's attacks, and Emily Murdock '18 added to the CSW tally. Throughout the game, Lizzie Bowden '18 had been moving the ball well down the sideline throughout the game, and was finally rewarded with CSW's final goal. Julia Bingel '19 is credited with her first shut out in goal.
