CSW Welcomes New Faculty and Staff

Hannah Callahan joins CSW's Language Department after working as an educator in the secondary and post-secondary sectors. She is a native to North Carolina and received both her B.A. and M.A. at UNC Chapel Hill. She has a passion for historical linguistics, weightlifting, hiking, and reading almost anything she can get her hands on. She is looking forward to integrating herself further into CSW as a dorm parent in Aleph and an Ultimate Frisbee coach in the spring!
Reen Courtney joins us in the Science Department and as Co-Adviser to the competition robotics team. After starting her career as a research neuroscientist and university lecturer, she discovered the joy that comes with hands-on teaching to high school students. She’s been working in independent and boarding schools for the past 17 years as a teacher, dorm parent, and coach at schools including The Rivers School (MA), The Hill School (PA), Berkshire School (MA), and Wolfeboro Camp School (NH). She enjoys presenting health and wellness programs to audiences of teens, parents, and teachers on the impact that nicotine, alcohol, and other substances have on the developing brain. When not excitedly talking about science, Reen enjoys getting outdoors with her family, walking her dogs, tackling crossword puzzles, and listening to live music. Reen attended Boston University for both undergraduate and graduate studies, holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology as well as a doctorate in brain and psychological sciences.
Roger Fussa joined CSW in February as the Development Office’s new Senior Leadership and Planned Giving Officer. Prior to CSW, Roger worked in the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School Advancement Office for six years. His 20+ years of institutional advancement experience also include stints at the Harvard Business School, the Harvard Kennedy School, Boston University, and Phillips Exeter Academy. Roger earned a B.A. in history from the University of Virginia, a master’s in liberal studies from Georgetown University, and a graduate certificate in publishing and communications from the Harvard Extension School. He lives in Belmont, MA, with his wife, two kids, and two poodles. He serves as a Belmont town meeting member and also sits on the executive board of the Planned Giving Group of New England.
Katie Holliday joins the CSW Athletics Department as the new Athletic Trainer. Katie is responsible for providing sports medicine coverage for all home sporting events and practices. Katie obtained her bachelor of science in athletic training from Springfield College in 2021. Previously, she has worked in the collegiate setting as assistant athletic trainer for Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. Katie is an active and current member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, is BOC certified, holds Massachusetts state licensure through the department of public health, and is CPR and AED certified.
Ted Hurley joins the CSW community as the Athletic Associate. Hailing from East Providence, RI, Ted is a New Englander through and through. He loves all four seasons and is a huge Boston sports fan. He graduated from Boston College in 2014 with a degree in communications and a minor in international studies. A year later, Ted returned to BC as a facilities supervisor for the Office of Residential Life and began pursuing his masters in sports administration. During this time, he also got his first coaching opportunity as a volleyball coach at Noble and Greenough. Upon completing his MSSA, he left Nobles after 6 years and spent a season as a volunteer assistant for the BC Women's Volleyball Program. Here, he not only grew as a coach but was able to discover his passion for youth development outweighed his competitive drive. Using this newfound understanding, Ted spent the next year working in Natick at an indoor beach volleyball facility coaching kids from kindergarten through high school and running adult clinics. He started at CSW as the varsity volleyball coach in 2022.
Audrey Moss is a Senior Staff Accountant in the Business Office. She earned her degree from UMass Boston and comes to CSW with a wealth of experience in finance, accounting, and administrative work.
Emily Ranii is the new Theatre Department Chair. Most recently, she came from Wheelock Family Theatre, where she was the artistic director and experienced on a daily basis how theatre transforms the lives of artists and audiences alike. Emily was the academic program head of Boston University's Summer Theatre Institute (BUSTI), a five-week overnight program for high school theatre artists designed to mirror the BFA college experience and support students' development of their individual and collective voices. She has taught for Cornell University, Boston University, and Wheelock College and she has directed more than 35 plays, musicals, and operas for theatres such as: Wheelock Family Theatre, New Repertory Theatre, Playmakers Repertory Company, Bridge Repertory Company/Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company, and Burning Coal Theatre Company.
Kaylee Sayers is the most recent addition to the Admissions Department at CSW as the
Admissions Coordinator. A May 2023 graduate of Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, VT,
she received her B.A. in English and Political Science while minoring in Global Studies. While at Saint Mike’s, Kaylee worked in the Marketing and Communications Office as a writer promoting campus events, alumni achievements, and exciting aspects of student life. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting bags, blankets and stuffed animals for family and friends.
Xiaoling Shi teaches Mandarin Chinese and helps out international students and families. She taught at Allegheny College, PA, for 12 years and got tenure for 5 years before coming to CSW. She is here because of her conviction in progressive education, her experiences as a CSW parent (her daughter Emily graduated in 2023) and a substitute teacher, and the community at school. She hopes that she can help bridge language and culture barriers in cross-cultural communications and get students in love with Chinese language and culture. Xiaoling was born and grew up in mainland China and worked in a secondary school in Singapore before coming to the United States.
Nazgol Shifteh is new to the English Department this year. Previously, Nazgol taught English composition, world literature, and creative writing at Westfield State University. Nazgol holds a bachelor's degree in comparative literature from Brown University, and a master in fine arts degree in fiction-writing from Columbia University.
Jee Eun Regina Song has joined CSW's History Department. She brings nearly 20 years of teaching experience, mostly in higher education before transitioning into secondary education. She most recently taught at Dana Hall School, in Wellesley, Mass, and has her BA in English from University of New Hampshire and a PhD in Cultural Studies from University of California, Davis. She has taught US history, global studies and cultural studies at UC Davis, UC Berkeley, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Morgan Swain is joining both the Mathematics and the Skills Departments at CSW this year. Morgan recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a bachelor of science in mathematics and a minor in anthropology. She has worked as a peer mentor, a tutor, and an intern at the Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Cooperative up in Vermont. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with animals, rollerblading, and skiing.
Pamela Torres is the new Director of Community Engagement, Summer, and International Exchange Programs. Before joining CSW, Pamela chaired the World Language Department and taught Spanish at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA, during the school year, and she taught ELL to international students and English to (MS)2 students during the summers at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. Pamela's first experience with independent schools was at Northfield Mount Hermon in Gill, MA, where she spent three years on campus and the winter term her senior year studying in Alexandria, Egypt. Pamela has studied and worked in Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador. She holds a bachelor's degree in Hispanic studies and education from Lewis & Clark College, a master's degree in Spanish from Middlebury College, and a master's degree in private school leadership/educational foundations from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Aidan Wang joins CSW as the new humanities teacher, splitting his time (and climbing a flight of stairs) between the English and History Departments. He received his B.A. in history, with a special focus on education history, from Brown University. Most recently, he has returned from Galicia, Spain, where he spent the year teaching English as part of the Fulbright Program. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, playing music, and cooking.
The Cambridge School of Weston is a progressive high school for day and boarding students in grades 9–12 and PG. CSW's mission is to provide a progressive education that emphasizes deep learning, meaningful relationships, and a dynamic program that inspires students to discover who they are and what their contribution is to their school, their community and the world.
