Jane's Pocket Change: Wise Words From Jeremy
Jeremy Wood, husband of our beloved theatre teacher, Robin Wood, who left us a number of years ago now, sadly, and father of Jonas Wood ‘95 and Augusta Wood ’96, writes to a group of people every now and then with quotes and poems.
These two popped into my mailbox a week or so ago. What wisdom: common sense and a sense of humor—brilliantly put; the role of your parrot, very clever. Thanks, Jeremy
Wherever you are,
it is your own friends
who make your world.
Common sense
and a sense of humor
are the same thing,
moving at different speeds.
A sense of humor is just
common sense, dancing.
-- William James (1842 - 1910)
So live that you
wouldn't be ashamed to
sell the family parrot
to the town gossip.
-- Will Rogers (1879 - 1935)
