  • Lavender Graduation

A Lavender Graduation is an LGBTQIA+ graduation celebration founded at the University of Michigan by Dr. Ronni Sanlo in 1995. Since then, Lavender Graduation has spread to several universities and colleges; it's intended to create an event that would bring together LGBTQIA+ students to celebrate each other, their hard work, and achievements. This is also a way for the school to honor LGBTQIA+ graduating seniors and their contributions to the CSW community.

We will celebrate Lavender Graduation on June 1st during lunch at the amphitheater. (If it rains, we will move to the Community Gallery.) Students & Faculty who identify as LGBTQ+ are welcome to attend. Graduating students will have the opportunity to pick up lavender pins that they can wear during graduation. Those who wish to stay anonymous can pick up pins in Mott, Chris, or Adriel's offices.
