Congratulations are in order for The Cambridge School of Weston’s (CSW) boys varsity soccer team who will now advance to the second round of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) tournament after an exciting victory over Christian Heritage School (Trumbull, Conn.) yesterday at CSW. The Gryphons won the game in a shootout following two overtime periods that left the teams knotted 2-2.

The second round game will be played on Saturday, November 20 against Watkinson School in Hartford, Conn.

On Nov. 8, CSW beat Brimmer and May School, 2-1, in the final game of the Massachusetts Bay Independent League championship on November 8, to win the team’s first league title since 2001.  The 4th-seeded Gryphons advanced to face the Christian Heritage School in the quarterfinal round of the tournament yesterday. It was the first time in recent history that the school has hosted a NEPSAC tournament game.
