J'Nyla
Boarding Student
Hometown: Lawrence, MA
Next Stop: Tufts University
Time and time again, J’Nyla has utilized her warmth, strength, and humor to build spaces at CSW where peers feel seen, known, and supported. She held several key leadership roles on campus, serving as a peer mentor, dorm leader, varsity volleyball captain, and co-head of the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Action) Committee. In that role, she led the planning of the school’s annual Social Justice Day, a series of themed workshops facilitated by outside presenters. Her senior year, she successfully revived the Queer People of Color student affinity space. A passionate maker, she turned her love of crochet, passed on to her from her grandmother, into a thriving, commission-based small business for her capstone. She is headed to Tufts University to pursue child study and human development, translating the empathetic mentorship and leadership frameworks she honed at CSW into professional practice.
