Film Remix

    In this course, students learned how to remix found video footage and other digital media, exploring the potential of this artistic technique as a tool for self-expression as well as political action. In addition to studying various forms of film remix, such as montage and mash-ups, students also examined artists who have used this technique in their work.

Drawing: Collage

    Collage explores the history of collage while working with a wide variety of materials and processes to create two‑dimensional artworks using found and created imagery. Students were asked to balance drawing and mark-making—precision with spontaneity—while transforming found materials, exploring image juxtaposition, creative risk-taking, “Listening to the picture,” “Seeing” potential in unexpected places, and “Reading” the work of art.
