Your Gift In Action

One hallmark of a CSW education is the willingness and courage to confront challenges. Over its 135-year history, our school has weathered many challenges of its own, and each time, individuals in our community have helped us move forward with confidence and courage, allowing us to emerge even stronger. And that is true again today. 

Everyone at CSW has gone through great lengths, thanks to many hours of planning and training over the summer and fall, both to educate and keep our students safe and healthy. We are proud to have opened our doors to our boarding students and welcome our day students for in-person learning for this school year. As we embark on this historic school year, we will need our entire CSW community’s help to meet the evolving demands of learning during COVID-19 for the entire year.

In addition to dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and so many other black and brown people, our school has also been grappling with our own understanding of what it means to be committed to racial justice. We have convened a Racial Equity Task Force this year to examine our policies, practices, pedagogy, programs, and curricula for racial equity with special attention to the experience of Black and Brown students.

Gifts to the Annual Fund (Partners in Progress) are a fundamental resource for the school within the fiscal year they are given. On April 29, 2020, CSW launched The Resilience Fund to respond to the unknown and ongoing demands of the COVID-19 pandemic with flexibility and strength, simultaneously addressing the immediate and future needs of CSW students, families, and faculty. The Resilience Fund remains a giving option for those who also wish to provide support towards expenses directly related to the COVID-19 response into the next school year

Partners in Progress

Tuition alone does not cover all operating expenses in a typical fiscal school year. At CSW, the operating budget calls for Partners in Progress to raise $900,000 on an annual basis, representing 5% of the overall budget. In FY21, Partners in Progress will not only support some of the COVID-19 related investments, but also continue with the ongoing support of existing investments, such as professional development for faculty, financial aid, technology, and physical plant upgrades. The Resilience Fund

In April 2020, CSW launched The Resilience Fund. Funds are used to specifically address COVID-19 related expenses only both in current and future fiscal years. To date, the fund has raised over $240,000, and all of the money raised in FY20 has already been put to good use for additional financial aid, purchase of PPE, investment in additional technology, professional education and training for the safe reopening of campus.  Click here to learn more about making a gift The Resilience Fund.
At CSW, our faculty are always adjusting their classroom curricula so that they remain relevant, while also maintaining the fundamentals of instruction their students need to be successful, and innovating and experimenting for a more vibrant future. As a progressive institution, this same process extends to the way we govern our community and run our school, and it is this way of thinking that will shepherd us through the crisis, just as it has through some of the most challenging times in our past. But we cannot do it without you. Join us, as we harness our strengths to respond to the now and prepare for an even better, stronger future, together.

The Cambridge School of Weston is a progressive high school for day and boarding students in grades 9–12 and PG.
