As you are aware from reading your enrollment contract, after June 1, you are responsible to pay the full year’s tuition regardless of a student’s attendance at school. The Cambridge School of Weston Tuition Protection Policy (TPP) is intended to mitigate financial impacts in an event that your student does not enroll in school upon the commencement of the academic year or does not complete but withdraws enrollment before the scheduled end of the academic year, subject to the terms and conditions stated below. This TPP does not apply to leaves of absence that do not result in a full withdrawal of the student’s enrollment, in addition to other applicable exclusions to reimbursement. Full withdrawal is defined as the date the Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management, Julie Johnstone is notified, in writing, that the student is withdrawing on a specific date. Student leaves of absence, where applicable, based on individual circumstances are addressed by other school policies.
CSW charges 2.5% of your net tuition to participate in the TPP. Participation is mandatory for all families and students whose annual tuition is not paid in full by July 10, 2025. CSW strongly encourages participation in this TPP for all other students and families.
TPP RULES — BENEFITS & EXCLUSIONS
Medical Withdrawal – 100% Protection
CSW will credit on a prorated basis 100% of the unused yearly tuition paid as of the effective date of full withdrawal of enrollment due to a medical reason. Medical reasons for withdrawal involve injury or sickness of an enrolled student that precludes attendance prior to the commencement of the academic year or full withdrawal of enrollment during the academic year. Exclusions include pregnancy or childbirth, epidemic/pandemic closure ordered by public health authorities or implemented by the school for health and safety reasons (not including remote instruction or a hybrid of remote and in-person learning), use of any drug or narcotic not prescribed by a physician, use of alcohol or alcoholism, and any sickness or injury for which medical care was received more than 90 days prior to the effective date of withdrawal. The school may require proper documentation in support of a medical withdrawal.
Non-Medical Withdrawal – 50% Protection
Families are not eligible for this Non-Medical Protection if the student did not complete at least three (3) full weeks of classes beginning the first day of the academic year. CSW will credit on a prorated basis 50% of the unused yearly tuition paid as of the effective date of withdrawal for non-medical reasons. Non-medical reasons for withdrawing include any voluntary school-supported withdrawal from the school. Voluntary withdrawal may be due to mental health conditions, pregnancy or childbirth, use of any drug or narcotic not prescribed by a physician, use of alcohol or alcoholism, or any sickness or injury for which medical care was received more than 90 days prior to the effective date of withdrawal. Expulsion, mandated withdrawal, or any other involuntary withdrawal from enrollment is not covered. Exclusions also include absence from campus during which time school credit is received, epidemic/pandemic closure ordered by public health authorities or implemented by the School for health and safety reasons (not including remote instruction or a hybrid of remote and in-person in person learning), boycotting of classes, early completion of academic requirements. The school may require proper documentation in support of a voluntary withdrawal, where applicable.
