What a day full of adventure!
Today was our first day at IPL, our French school! I started this morning by spending some time with my host mom before she showed me the tram that I would take each morning to school. Getting to school I got to see and talk to everyone in our group before starting class. We started the day with introductions and got right into a test/questionnaire to place us into different groups to see what areas of French we needed to work on the most (Speaking, Writing, etc.), from there we separated into our various groups and got to meet our teachers for the next couple weeks. After that, we got to have lunch packed by our host families! From there our assignment for today was to go on a “Visual Scavenger Hunt” around Montpelier Center. We got to see many different landmarks from the Arc de Triomphe to le Cathédrale Saint-Pierre (See the picture of one of the statutes we had to take a picture with!). After wrapping that up we had free time to explore and grab snacks with friends. The group that I was with decided to visit a couple of thrift stores to see if we could find any hidden gyms, we sadly failed but tomorrow we are going to the mall to make up for it!
