Clues You May Be a Future CSW Student

YOU'RE READY FOR MORE OWNERSHIP OVER YOUR EDUCATION

With over 250 courses to choose from, our Mod System offers breadth, depth, and curricular agency you won't find at any other school. Under the guidance of faculty advisors, we help you create a unique schedule that allows you to balance foundational classes, in-depth courses in your interest areas, and opportunities for exploration and growth. We know students learn best when they can study subjects that interest them, and our academic model reflects that. At CSW, no two schedules are alike.

YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A CREATIVE

At CSW, creative expression isn't reserved for the studio or the stage. Our students apply art and creative thinking to topics in social justice and academics to more fully understand their world. For us, art is not an isolated discipline, but a means by which ideas, events, and people can be processed, explored, and understood. Art sparks creativity and intrigue and inspires a level of focus and intent that can be directly applied to the pursuit of knowledge, both in and out of the classroom.

SOCIAL CLIQUES AND HIERARCHIES AREN'T YOUR JAM

Here, you won't be pigeonholed into being one "type" of kid. Musical theatre gurus attend lunchtime drone club meetings and varsity basketball players lead school-wide debates. You can change up who you sit with at lunch or try a new activity you know nothing about, and no one will bat an eye. Because at CSW, we support each other with kindness and compassion. As a community, we seek to cultivate empathy, and to be truly invested in each other’s well-being and social and academic growth. We support each other in practicing these, and our other core values every day—here on campus, and in the greater world around us.

YOU'RE TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING YOUR GENERATION DOESN'T CARE

Progressive education is about moving the world forward, and social justice has always been core to our progressive program. We're proud to be the first independent school in the country to include a Social Justice Requirement among our graduation requirements. Students choose from a list of over 80 approved coursesYou can also get involved in justice-focused affinity groups, clubs, and organizations, and participate in student-led, community-wide events meant to educate, inspire, and build awareness on and off campus.

YOU. WANT. MORE.

Learning is not a spectator sport. We believe that the classroom experience should be illuminating, interesting, and fun! CSW students engage with course content through lively debate, hands-on experiences, labs, studios, rehearsals, service-based learning, and fieldwork. There is joy to be found in a cohort experience where inspiring peers and mentors build off of each others’ ideas and energy.
