End of Mod Parent Coffee

Cheek - Swope Room - Swope

Parent Coffee is a series of presentations by administrators or other faculty/staff covering parenting topics related to teenagers and CSW. The coffee is regularly followed by the End of Mod Show. This Mod's discussion topic is as follows:

Decreasing Stress... About Stress

As we all know, many adolescents report having "unhealthy" levels of stress in their lives. At this coffee, CSW counselors, Jen Quest-Stern and Bernice Ruiz, will address how adults can help young people create and maintain a healthy mindset about the stress that is inevitable in life. We will look at some of the latest research about the impact of stress on people's lives and consider ways that we can collectively help CSW students address stress in a way that enhances growth and connection.

A continental breakfast will be served, starting at 8:15 a.m., and the presentation will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Date: Wednesday, December 20, 2017
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Swope Room (room adjacent to the Dining Hall)
If you will be unable to attend, you can watch a livestream of the event  or access a video recording that will be posted on the Parent Resource page.

CSW—a gender-inclusive day and boarding school for grades 9-12—is a national leader in progressive education. We live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives in every aspect of our student experience. Young people come to CSW to learn how to learn and then put what they learn into action—essential skills they carry into their futures as doers, makers, innovators, leaders, and exceptional humans who do meaningful work in the world.
