WHAT I’M READING
- I was intrigued by this recent feature from The New York Times in which a panel of educators, reporters, writers, scholars, and current students answer the question: What Is School For?
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO/WATCHING
- I have been closely watching the progress of our recent campus renovations — namely the Library, which we hope will be completed by the end of the month. I recently took a campus tour with our Director of Facilities and our Board Chair and am very excited to share more progress updates soon!
WHAT I’M THINKING/TALKING ABOUT
- On Wednesday, our Student Life Office hosted their annual Alliance, Interest, and Affinity Group Fair. I loved traveling from table to table to learn more about what our students are passionate about. CSW is home to such a great diversity of students with different backgrounds, hobbies, interests, and ideas. Some of the many groups I saw this year included: Black Student Union, Finance and Investment Club, Jewish Student Affinity Space, Knitting Club, Model UN, Songwriting Club, Sports Club, and Sustainability Committee.
WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE
Last weekend was All Boarders Weekend, a jam-packed series of events for members of our residential community to connect, bond, and get to know each other better. I love this shot of students from the Warren Dorm performing their “fractured fairytale.” This year’s assignment was to create their own CSW version of a popular Disney/Pixar movie. Warren won with their rendition of Up.

We live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives in every aspect of our student experience. Young people come to CSW to learn how to learn and then put what they learn into action—essential skills they carry into their futures as doers, makers, innovators, leaders, and exceptional humans who do meaningful work in the world.
