Boys' JV Soccer Continue Their Success

In a 3-1 win over Boston Trinity Academy, the Gryphons reap another consecutive achievement.
The Gryphons continue their success as a team in a 3 to 1 win over Boston Trinity Academy. The first goal for CSW was scored late in the first half. Dario Garcia '18 moved the ball past two defenders before tucking it into the back of the net. Boston Trinity came out strong the second half and tied the score. The opposing outside midfielder dribbled inside and fired a shot into the goal. Leaf Fagerberg '18 earned the game winning goal for the Gryphons as a CSW cross found the open man. One on one with the goalie, Fagerberg was able to keep his composure and place the ball into the corner of the goal. Matt Bird '17 and Ashton O'Brien '16 sealed the win in the final minutes of the game. Bird beat his defender out wide and was able to maneuver the ball toward goal. When Boston Trinity shifted towards the opponent, Bird passed the ball back to O’Brien who struck it into the goal. Overall, it was an extremely even match. CSW made the most of their limited opportunities to score followed by solid defending in the back. This combined effort gave the Gryphons the upper hand to reap another consecutive achievement.
